We operate a flower growing property at 43 No. 2 Road, Te Puke, and are working to expand our client base this year.
We operate a flower and foliage growing property at 43 No. 2 Road, Te Puke.
We will be running a You Pick operation, supplying to Flower Auctions, and having flowers available for florists and events.
Tony and Karen Hooper run the farm. Public picking is Saturday morning, and Friday and Saturday evening. Book a place, pick for an hour and a half, and pay $2 a stem for what you take home. The mix changes with the season. This season that includes statice, zinnia, yarrow, and foliage. Session dates go up on Instagram and Facebook first.
You walk the rows, and Tony or Karen shows you which stems are ready to cut. If the weather or the amount of flower is not right, anyone already booked hears two days before, rather than arriving to a thin patch.
Shoes for uneven ground, and a bucket for the drive home. Snips are here when you arrive, including a rounded pair for younger children. Children stay with an adult, or in a stroller. The bees are part of the farm, working the same flowers.
